Fees are not charged for Medicare-related communication with your referring practitioner.
Fees are payable in full at the time of appointment.
Medicare Rebates
If you are claiming Medicare rebates (e.g., under a Mental Health Treatment Plan) it is your responsibility to ensure you are eligible and have sessions remaining under your current referral and calendar year allocation.
Medicare rebates with a Mental Health Treatment Plan are generally limited to 10 sessions per calendar year. We do our best to track the number of sessions you have with us and to advise when you need a re-referral or are approaching the end of a pre-approved course of treatment, but it is highly recommended that you track the number of sessions you have under your referral scheme.
While we provide information regarding Medicare and other funding schemes, eligibility and rebate entitlements remain the responsibility of the client and the relevant funding body. We cannot guarantee eligibility or provide rebates once your allocated sessions have been used.
The current Medicare rebate for a 50 minute session with a clinical psychologist is $145.25.
More about Medicare, Mental Health Treatment Plans (MHTPs) and Other Insurers/Schemes can be found in our policy of the same name.
Please be aware that if any questions or problems arise in relation to a Medicare rebate it is your responsibility to contact Medicare on
13 20 10 to resolve the issue.
Late Attendance
If you are late for an appointment, your session may be less than 50 minutes in duration. Unfortunately, due to appointments with other clients, we are unable to lengthen sessions beyond the scheduled appointment time.
You will need to pay the full consultation fee in these circumstances.
Please note that if you are late for an appointment Medicare requirements may result in your rebate being reduced.
Payment
We use Stripe as our preferred online payment method. Stripe is a leading global provider of online payment processing services. On booking an appointment with CMB Psychology your credit/debit card (Visa or Mastercard) details will be collected and stored securely by Stripe.
Payment information is securely processed and stored by Stripe in accordance with applicable privacy and security standards. CMB Psychology does not store your card details within the Practice.
Payment for sessions will be automatically processed via Stripe after each appointment; your receipt will be emailed to you. If you have any concerns about this payment method, please contact us.
If you are eligible for a Medicare rebate we will process this following full payment of the session fee. Medicare will deposit the rebate into your nominated bank account.
If you are eligible for a rebate through Private Health Insurance you will be able to use your receipt to make an online or in-person claim directly with your insurer.
Please note that you are not able to claim a rebate from Medicare and a Private Health fund concurrently for an appointment.
Cancellation and Non-Attendance
At CMB Psychology we understand that life can be unpredictable. We request that if you become unable to attend an appointment, you inform us as soon as possible, and with at least 48 business hours' notice, so we have the option of offering your appointment time to another client who might be waiting for support.
If a cancellation occurs within 48 business hours of an appointment a cancellation fee will apply.
If a scheduled appointment is not attended a cancellation fee will apply.
A cancellation or non-attendance fee is the full cost of the session and will be processed using Stripe following your scheduled session. These fees are not covered by Medicare, your private health fund or other schemes.
Please note that clients are responsible for noting their appointment times to avoid late cancellation or non-attendance fees. Whilst we may send reminders these should not be relied upon as the sole way to remember your appointment.
Cancellation/non-attendance fees may be waived at the discretion of your psychologist in the case of a personal emergency or illness. A medical certificate may be requested.
